The Council of Better Business is excited to announce the creation of a new advertising self-regulation program called the Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DS-SRC). The goals of the program are to provide independent, impartial and comprehensive monitoring of direct selling companies on an industry-wide basis and address income representations (including lifestyle claims) and product claims by companies and salesforce members with an emphasis on claims disseminated on social media platforms.

The program will include a robust challenge mechanism (please see DS-SRC Procedures) of competitor claims and will be complimented by an appeals process. Program activity, including case decisions and press releases, will be made available on this website.

During the first quarter of 2019, the DS-SRC staff will be conducting an overall assessment of product and income claims that are disseminated in the direct selling industry and we are anticipate that case filings will be accepted beginning on April 1, 2019.
