Accountability Program Q&A
Consumers should have notice that an ad is targeted because of their interests. Such notice may include the display of an icon in or near the ad or on the web page where information is being collected. Consumers should be able to click on the icon (or statement about the ad) to learn more about the businesses involved. That page should provide a link to where you are provided with a choice about whether to receive online behavioral advertisements. Consumers should be able to opt-out of receiving further targeted ads from the businesses involved. The link may also take consumer to an industry-created website, where they have further opt-out choices. Please click "Read More" to learn about online interest-based advertising, transparency and consumer choice.
