Peter C. Marinello
Peter C. Marinello is the Director of the Electronic Retailing Self Regulation Program and a Vice President of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. Before joining NARC in July 2004, Peter had been the Associate Director at the National Advertising Division of the CBBB since 2000 and a Senior Staff Attorney with NAD since March of 1993. Peter has written over 750 self-regulatory decisions on various advertising topics and products involving traditional and direct response advertising. In the course of his work, Peter has addressed issues pertaining to new media, dietary supplements and nuclear energy, among others, and has spoken on behalf of the NAD and ERSP at a number of trade conferences and workshop seminars throughout the country. He has also been the author of a number of articles regarding advertising self-regulation in various trade publications. Prior to joining NAD, Peter practiced law for six years at a general litigation firm in New York City. He has appeared in court in each of the five boroughs of New York as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties and is also admitted to New York’s Southern and Eastern District Courts of the United States. In addition, Peter brings an extensive communications background to NARC, having assisted in the production of television broadcasts for the USA Cable Network and NBC Sports. Peter is a graduate of St. Johns University School of Law and has been a member of the New York State Bar since 1988.
Leanne Gabinelli is a Staff Attorney for the Advertising Self-Regulatory Council’s Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program. She assists with ERSP’s ongoing monitoring program and has been an integral part in the development of the ERSP Telemarketing Review Program.
Before joining ERSP, Leanne was a Legal Intern at the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureau. While at NAD, Leanne worked on more than 10 evidentiary hearings, cases, administrative closings and appeals. She identified legal issues, summarized party positions and drafted NAD case decisions on national advertising campaigns, including Verizon FiOS, Schick Intuition Plus, and Vaseline Intensive Care. As a law student, Leanne worked as a Research Assistant at New York Law School’s Institute for Information Law and Policy, where she did extensive research on the Google Books lawsuit and settlement.
Leanne is a graduate of New York Law School and Ithaca College (B.S., magna cum laude in Communication Management and Design). She is admitted to the bars of New York State, the State of New Jersey, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Advertising Review Specialist
Jessica Grodzki is the Advertising Review Specialist for the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (“ERSP”). She assists with ERSP’s ongoing monitoring program along with ERSP’s day to day activities. Before joining ERSP, Jessica worked at the Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York where she managed the Information & Investigations Department. As manager, she reviewed advertising, conducted investigations of local businesses, and helped organize the annual Top Ten Consumer Frauds and Complaints press conference. Jessica has a B.A. from Boston University.
